This rule amends existing regulations governing requests for waiver of the two-year home-country physical presence requirement made by interested United States Government agencies on behalf of an exchange visitor. Changes to the regulations governing waiver requests by interested United States Government agencies are necessary to provide for uniform administration of such requests. The Agency anticipates that such changes will increase administrative efficiency and speed of response and also ensure that multiple waiver requests on behalf of an individual exchange visitor are not processed.
