This interim rule amends the Immigration and Naturalization Service's (Service) regulations in order to implement the Nursing Relief for Disadvantaged Areas Act of 1999 (NRDAA) by providing instruction on the filing and adjudication of petitions for H-1C classification. This rule will facilitate the hiring of nonimmigrant alien nurses to reduce the shortage of nurses in health professional shortage areas in the United States.
